The Foreign Minister of Russia,Sergei Lavrov has said Sergei on the US brokered potential ceasefire deal with Ukraine:
“What is important to us is not a ceasefire that will allow Ukraine to be armed once again and again directed at our country, but a long-term sustainable peace based on the elimination of the root causes of the conflict”
Following on US Secretary oF State Marco Rubio’s statement: “ We’ve offered Ukraine an immediate ceasefire. They accepted. We will now take this to the Russians. The ball is now in their court.” There was a subsequent joint statement announced afterwards: “Ukraine expressed readiness to accept the US proposal to enact an immediate, interim 30-day ceasefire, which can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, and which is subject to acceptance and concurrent implementation by the Russian Federation. The United States will communicate to Russia that Russian reciprocity is the key to achieving peace.”
Lavrov has previously stated in the past that “The Russian Federation will not consider any proposals for a ceasefire”
“Putin said very clearly: yes, we are ready to negotiate. But we will not consider any proposals for a ceasefire. Because we have already considered this, you deceived us”
State Duma State Deputy, Viktor Sobolev said:
“Russia will not agree to a 30-day ceasefire, as it will only allow Ukraine to regroup and rearm. The west deceived us into signing Minsk II, our army has the greater advantage. Why should we agree to a “temporary” ceasefire?”

Ukraine pledging neutrality
Ending the genocide of ethnic Russians in the country
Demilitarisation of it’s Nazis
