From the Persian Gulf and Iraqi Kurdistan to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, new fronts are emerging as more countries become involved and the risk of a wider regional war continues to grow.
I believe the Iran war is entering a new phase, expanding beyond the Persian Gulf into Iraqi Kurdistan and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. If the current trajectory continues, I expect the conflict to draw in more countries, open new fronts, and become increasingly difficult to contain.
The U.S. has expanded its military campaign inside Iran, targeting logistics networks, transportation infrastructure, telecommunications sites, and selected military facilities.
In response, Iran has widened its attacks against U.S. assets across Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Qatar, and Jordan. Reports also indicate that U.S. positions in Syria have come under attack.
I believe Jordan is becoming increasingly important because of its role in regional air defense. Repeated strikes on Jordanian air defense sites appear aimed at reducing its ability to intercept missiles headed toward Israel.
At the same time, I believe Israel is becoming more deeply involved as a central hub for U.S. military support, making it a more prominent target in the next phase of the conflict.
In Iraqi Kurdistan, Iran has reportedly intensified missile, drone, and special operations against Kurdish militant groups. Reports also suggest Turkey has acted to prevent Iranian Kurdish factions from opening a new front inside Iran, while senior Iranian officials have publicly acknowledged Ankara’s role.

In the Persian Gulf, Bahrain and Kuwait have emerged as key focal points because of their strategic importance to U.S. military operations. If the war continues to expand, I believe the UAE could also face Iranian retaliation, while Qatar and Oman may come under greater pressure if they become more directly involved.
In the Red Sea, reports indicate Ansar Allah is preparing for potential action against Saudi Arabia while increasing pressure on shipping through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints.

In my view, this conflict is no longer confined to Iran and Israel. It is steadily evolving into a regional war with multiple fronts, involving more states and threatening critical military and commercial routes across West Asia. This has all the hallmarks of WW3 taking a visible shape.
